Optional objectives, real rewards

Each run may roll one or two minigames alongside the main boss objective. Completing them grants run bonuses - cooldown reduction, gold find, projectile count, pickup radius, AOE, and more - that carry through to the boss fight.

System overview

How minigames are rolled

Minigames are optional run objectives selected at run start. Each run rolls independently before enemies are spawned. With two minigames active they are always drawn from the pool without replacement, so the same minigame cannot appear twice in one run. Each of the seven implemented minigames has equal weight.

Event rooms

How event rooms are allocated

Each active minigame requests one special event room marked purple on the minimap. The level generator reserves these before spawning room visuals, so they are always accessible from run start.

Allocation priority: existing branch rooms are claimed first, then empty cells adjacent to playable rooms are used as fallback. Start rooms, boss rooms, and chest rooms are never overwritten.

Rewards

Run bonuses and progression

Some minigames grant per-step rewards, some grant milestone rewards, and some pay out only on completion. Run-scoped stat bonuses remain active until the run ends and stack additively with gear stats, passives, and any other minigame bonuses active in the same run.

A few objectives use progression rewards instead of temporary stats. Raven Omen, for example, grants Paragon XP immediately when feather milestones are collected.

Seven active minigames

These seven minigames are in the live pool and can appear in any run. Each uses one event room and follows the same runtime contract: they start after the level is generated and before the run clock begins.

Exploration / Rescue

Lovely Critters

Find the critters, bring them safely home

Ten critters are hiding across the map. Get close to one and it will shrink down and start following you. Carry it back to the rescue house marked on your map and it will run inside on its own. You can rescue them one at a time or round up several before heading back.

Each rescue earns an ability upgrade or gold.
Save all ten and gain +20% Cooldown Reduction for the rest of the run.

Collection

Lost Merchandize

Hunt down the merchant's lost goods

A merchant has lost fifteen artifacts somewhere across the map. They bob gently so you can spot them as you explore. Walk over one to collect it, then keep moving. Every artifact immediately improves your gold income.

15 artifacts to collect 1 merchant tent

Each artifact gives +20% Gold Find.
Collect all fifteen and also gain +100% Magic Find for the rest of the run.

Cleanse

Cursed Totems

Hold your ground and cleanse the cursed idols

Five cursed totems have been planted across the map. Stand near one to cleanse it while its progress bar fills. If you leave too early the ritual decays, so every cleanse asks you to hold the area for a moment.

5 totems to cleanse 10 seconds each

Each totem grants one shuffled stat reward: max life, physical damage, magical damage, movement speed, or cooldown reduction.
Cleanse all five and gain +5 Hero Levels.

Survival / Wave Defence

Gate of the Damned

Stand your ground at the portal until it closes

A demonic portal has torn open in the event room and enemies are pouring through. Stay close to it and the sealing progress fills. Step away and the seal pauses. The longer the run has gone on, the harder the enemies coming through will be.

Seal the gate and earn +3 Projectiles for all your abilities for the rest of the run.

Escort

Scared Spirit Escort

Guide a frightened spirit back to its grave

A lonely spirit waits somewhere in the wilds, too afraid to move until you come close. Once it trusts you, it follows your hero. Lead it back to the grave in the event room and keep nearby so it does not lose its nerve.

Lay the spirit to rest and gain +100% Pickup Radius for the rest of the run.

Chase / Collection

Raven Omen

Strike spectral ravens and collect their omen feathers

Spectral ravens enter from the edge of the screen and wander inside the combat arena before fleeing. They do not use normal health. Each distinct hit source counts once, and after enough hits the raven bursts into a collectible feather.

40 feathers to collect Ravens flee after 20 seconds

Collect feathers for permanent Paragon XP: +250 at 10/20/30 feathers and +1000 at 40.

Purge / Swarm

Spider Egg Purge

Crack open the brood before the map starts crawling

One hundred spider eggs are scattered across the map in mixed sizes and occasional clusters. Get too close and an egg starts wiggling, then hatches after three seconds. Each egg takes three hits to purge, and both hatching and purging release spiders scaled to the current run minute.

100 eggs to purge 1-5 spiders per egg

Purge 20/40/60/80 eggs for +10% AOE each.
Purge all 100 and gain an extra +25% AOE.
